Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and optimize manufacturing methods, driving continuous improvement and high-yield processes on-site in Hampton, VA. The role emphasizes cost reduction, tooling support, and data-driven decision making to ensure parts meet customer requirements.

The candidate will lead cross-functional teams, perform time studies, and develop standard work, with an emphasis on ergonomics and scalable, safe solutions across operations.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering and 3+ years in manufacturing.
• Experience with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methods.
• Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret manufacturing data to support decisions.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing methods and processes that align with customer specs.
• Lead problem-solving, cost-reduction, and part/process improvement projects.
• Provide data-driven input to address production issues and support operations.
• Prepare quotations by estimating material, scrap, and labor costs for cost modeling.
• Support tooling development and BOM/routing input; deliver fixtures and dies.
• Lead process development, prototypes, work instructions, and data analysis.
