Job summary

Parker Hannifin, a Fortune 250 leader in motion and control technologies, is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer in Utah. The role focuses on driving productivity, reducing waste, improving cycle time, and ensuring safety and quality compliance on the shop floor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment supporting production, quality, or continuous improvement.
  • Manufacturing processes such as machining, assembly, fabrication, molding, or automation.
  • Rubber and plastic injection molding experience is a plus.
  • Process improvement methods like Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S.
  • Ability to develop and optimize work instructions, routings, process flows, and standard work.
  • Familiarity with GD&T, tolerancing, prints, tooling, fixtures, and quality systems.
  • Understanding of safety, ergonomics, and regulatory compliance.
  • Background in troubleshooting production issues, reducing scrap, improving cycle time, and supporting new product introduction is often preferred.
  • Must be proficient in CNC programming and have a hands-on approach in the troubleshooting of CNC equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Determine processes for sequences of manufacturing operations on new and existing products.
  • Ensure current equipment, tooling, and processes meet customer quality requirements and are ergonomically sound.
  • Design tooling and implement assignments affecting manufacturing equipment and processes to achieve production goals.
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex engineering and manufacturing problems through advanced processes and supplier conferral.
  • Apply continuous improvement and Lean techniques to improve production areas.
  • Recommend product changes to Product Engineers.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by planning workflow, space, and equipment layout.
  • Assure product and process quality by testing and establishing standards.
  • Determine root cause of failures using statistical methods (DOE, SPC).
  • Evaluate capital equipment investments and prepare cost justifications; manage capital projects.
  • Develop tooling and fixtures and work with tooling vendors.
  • Identify and implement safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction solutions.
  • Prepare documentation for new processes and procedures.
  • Share knowledge and lead project teams.
