Job summary

Legrand is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in West Hartford, CT to develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes for current and new products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost targets are met.

You will design testing methods, build tooling, and support continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining documentation and training for maintenance, operations, and assembly staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing engineering, drafting, or related capacity.
• Experience with CAD software (2D/3D) preferred.
• Experience with automation, advanced manufacturing technologies, and new product introduction processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and implement manufacturing methods and processes (line balancing, assembly flows, process flows).
• Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
• Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods and establishing standards.
• Evaluate processes by researching, designing, modifying, and testing methods and equipment.
• Review new product designs to identify DFM issues and support NPI.
• Develop tooling and fixtures for manufacturing processes and assembly operations.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production issues; perform root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Prepare process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Create and maintain manufacturing documentation (process flows, ECOs, work instructions).
• Provide technical assistance and training to maintenance, operations, and assembly personnel.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives using lean principles to enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
• Maintain compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
