Job summary
Caterpillar Inc. in Clayton, NC is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to collaborate with the team in maintaining and improving manufacturing processes and systems for the products produced in the facility.
You will analyze and recommend current and future systems, procedures and equipment needs based on manufacturing requirements. A successful candidate will perform technical analysis of manufacturing processes, support NPI programs, set up routings in SAP, design tooling, troubleshoot issues,
Qualifications
- Knowledge of manufacturing engineering methods, tools and processes.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and how to apply them.
- Strong problem-solving skills for operational challenges.
- Experience with end-to-end manufacturing processes and improvements.
Responsibilities
- Perform technical analysis of manufacturing processes with a continuous improvement focus.
- Support execution of NPI programs.
- Set up and support production routings in SAP.
- Design and direct the acquisition of tooling and machines.
- Troubleshoot day-to-day process issues and monitor improvements.
- Procure materials related to manufacturing improvements from external suppliers.
- Analyze and deploy engineering change notices.
- Respond to customer issues and lead process improvements.
