Job summary

Prysmian Group is seeking a results-driven engineer to lead process improvements across plastics/manufacturing operations in a high-performance setting. You will guide cross-functional teams, manage complex projects, and drive lean initiatives to elevate productivity and product quality.

Qualifications

  • Engineer with success in high-performance manufacturing environments.
  • Strong leadership to guide cross-functional teams through coaching and mentorship.
  • Proven experience managing complex engineering projects from planning through execution within budget and schedule.
  • Ability to build organizational support for new methods, technologies, and process improvements.
  • Skilled at developing people and achieving results through collaboration and influence.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Strong technical training and instructional design skills; translate complex concepts into training materials.
  • Quick learner capable of mastering new technologies, processes, and engineering concepts.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering; plastics, polymers or related manufacturing processes preferred.
  • 5 to 7 years of engineering experience in manufacturing preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
  • Collaborate with production staff to identify and implement the most effective manufacturing methods and technologies.
  • Develop and optimize process parameters, tooling, fixtures, and equipment setups to support stable and repeatable production.
  • Lead manufacturing readiness activities for new product launches, including process development, validation, and documentation.
  • Benchmark industry best practices and identify opportunities to integrate advanced manufacturing techniques into the organization.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute manufacturing improvement projects from concept through implementation.
  • Provide hands-on technical support for daily production issues, including troubleshooting equipment, tooling, and process deviations.
  • Deliver measurable improvements in productivity, scrap reduction, cycle time, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Maintain strong working relationships across departments to ensure alignment on production goals and priorities.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Support operator training by developing clear work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process control methods.
