Job summary
Piston Automotive is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design, document, and implement assembly processes for our automotive products at the Wentzville, Missouri site. You will lead capital projects, develop SOPs, and ensure manufacturability of new and upgraded lines, working closely with suppliers and internal teams.
The role requires substantial experience in automotive assembly, robotics integration, and production engineering practices.
Qualifications
- 7–10+ years in automotive assembly engineering.
- Experience with robotic technologies and automation.
- Knowledge of JIT, SPD, ILVS and batch manufacturing systems.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and implement assigned projects and processes.
- Develop and track capital investment budgets for projects.
- Interface with machining, automation and capital equipment vendors.
- Develop production processes and SOPs for new and existing lines.
- Lead line layout, PFEP, and ergonomic workstation design.
- Drive lean concepts (5S, Kanban, Visual Factory, TPM).
- Support launches, engineering changes and capacity analyses.
