Manufacturing Engineer – Inverter Technology

Role Description:

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support our Siemens Contract Manufacturing facility and the Siemens Inverter business. The role involves working closely with our Contract Manufacturer, Siemens, and KACO personnel to resolve production issues, implement improvements, and optimize production processes, focusing on Solar PV products. The engineer will develop technical production solutions, including hardware and software requirements, and prepare presentations for internal meetings. Evaluating production metrics and implementing strategies to meet world-class standards are also key responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the transfer and flawless launch of new production lines in the US.
  • Provide technical support for equipment installation, floor layout, and ongoing production.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to resolve manufacturing and testing issues, including troubleshooting and equipment repair.
  • Optimize product and process to reduce cycle time and support cost-saving initiatives.
  • Evaluate components for cost efficiency and obsolescence.
  • Deliver presentations on production metrics, issues, and improvements to Siemens and KACO management.
  • Create documentation supporting production improvements and cost savings.
  • Support software-related issues and interpret schematics in inverter test chambers with KACO/Siemens experts.
  • Conduct on-site supplier visits and provide guidance to procurement and quality teams.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • At least 2 years of experience supporting manufacturing or production lines in inverter, electronics, or power conversion industries.
  • Experience with manufacturing systems or production support in photovoltaic, energy storage, or electronics sectors.
  • Knowledge of 3-phase string inverters and commercial solar projects is a plus.
  • Understanding of North American (UL) and European standards in PV inverters and electronics.
  • Ability to interpret 2D engineering drawings.
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 3 months initially and 10% annually afterward.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with PCB and PCBA manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, preferably NX.
  • Experience implementing new manufacturing methods and training staff.
  • Ability to work effectively with global teams and communicate clearly across cultures.
  • Technical proficiency in production specifications, test protocols, and automation.
  • Multilingual skills are a plus.
  • Positive attitude, high energy, and willingness to go the extra mile.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and time management skills.
