LISI AEROSPACE NORTH AMERICA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to support Lean projects and continuous improvement initiatives at our facility. The role involves creating production metrics displays, conducting time studies, and developing SOPs and work instructions to improve efficiency.

You will use SolidWorks for drawings of tools, parts and work stations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams while pursuing a BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.

Qualifications

  • Actively pursuing a BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement is a plus.
  • Proficient in CAD/ SolidWorks for tool and workstation drawings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Job description

Manufacturing Engineering Intern is responsible for completing manufacturing projects as assigned by the LEAN Manager.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Support Lean Manufacturing projects/Continuous Improvement
  • Produces production metrics and creates display boards.
  • Performs time studies to establish production standards
  • Utilizes Solid Works to create drawings for tools, parts, and work stations, etc…
  • Create SOP’s and Work Instructions
  • Other duties may be assigned

Education And/or Experience
  • Must be actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four-year College or university in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.

Computer Skills

An individual should have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Access and Computer assisted design (CAD) proficiency.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business materials
