Job summary

LISI Aerospace in Walteria, CA is seeking a Production Planner I to coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials. You will review schedules, align with production needs, and ensure timely information sharing across departments.

Key tasks include updating work orders, maintaining production plans with vendors and customers, and generating reports for Operations Management. MRP proficiency and attention to HSE policies are essential.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1–3 years equivalent combination of education and experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
  • APICS Basics certification or experience preferred.
  • Experience with an MRP System preferred.
  • Seeking for a college student or graduate studying engineering with Purchasing Experience and/or BS Engineering.
  • Minimum 1–2 years working experience in a manufacturing environment preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of Expeditor or Production Planning I direct experience preferred in a fast paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews documents, materials, products, and work processes to maintain completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards.
  • Reviews production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and materials requirements and priorities.
  • Communicates with department Supervisors and other departments to evaluate progress and discuss changes to ensure no downtime on machinery.
  • Assists with revision of production schedules due to design changes, labor or material shortages, or backlogs.
  • Coordinates with vendors and customers to align production and shipping activities.
  • Maintains and communicates production schedules to Manufacturing Supervisors.
  • Creates production and customer reports for Operations Management review.
  • Uses MRP system for shop floor reporting and record accuracy.

SUMMARY

Production Planner I individual Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between work centers with complete regard for the shop sequences and shipping schedule. Coordinates and secures inventory items based upon inventory levels and parts usage. Follows improvement plans to production processes, methods and controls to maximize efficiency of the manufacturing.

  • Reviews documents, materials, products, and work processes, in order to maintain completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.
  • Reviews production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and materials requirements and material priorities.
  • Communicates with department Supervisors and other departments’ personnel to evaluate progress and discuss needed changes with Production Planners, creating work orders, work order splits and chain loading to assure there is no down time on machinery within the factory.
  • Assist with the revision of production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions.
  • Communicates with vendors and customers to in order to coordinate production and shipping activities.
  • Reviews and communicates the production schedules to Manufacturing Supervisors.
  • Compiles data and information in order to create various production and customer reports for review by Operations Management.
  • Utilizes MRP system to maintain shop floor reporting and accurate records.
  • Supports and maintains all company and departmental HSE policies, procedures, and practices,
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.
  • Responsible for complying with ISO 14001 standards, aspects, directives and impact as related to the HSE policy commitments.
  • Responsible for attending all training provided and for adhering to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements, and safe operating procedures at all times.
  • Required to bring any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management’s attention immediately.
  • Continually seek opportunities to improve our HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting our results.
  • Required to comply waste reduction and elimination initiatives specially related with the department and company recycling opportunities and energy efficiencies to elimination of production waste.
  • Works under limited supervision with a wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.
