Job summary

Symbotic is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern to join the External Manufacturing team. The role supports external partners and internal engineering teams to improve manufacturing processes and prepare products for production.

This cross-functional internship covers mechanical, electrical, and process engineering. Transportation and housing benefits are provided for relocation where eligible.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering with hands-on exposure to manufacturing or automation.
• Interest in learning across mechanical and electrical engineering domains.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving and process-improvement focus.

Responsibilities

• Support senior engineers and external manufacturing partners on manufacturing readiness and production support.
• Prepare manufacturing readiness documentation and support engineering changes.
• Review drawings, manufacturing requirements, and production-related documentation.
• Assist with Design for Manufacturability and opportunities to improve manufacturability, quality, efficiency, and scalability.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing and design challenges with internal teams and external partners.
• Contribute to process-improvement initiatives using dashboards, data, or automation tools.
• Travel to external manufacturing partner locations as needed to gain hands-on exposure.
