Job summary

Symbotic invites students to join our Manufacturing Engineer Intern program to support external manufacturing partners and internal teams. You will help improve processes, prepare products for production, and assist with manufacturing readiness for automated systems in a cross-functional environment.

You’ll work on mechanical and electrical systems, review drawings, and contribute to design-for-manufacturability initiatives, with mentorship and hands-on exposure across multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Hands-on exposure to manufacturing, automation, prototyping, or engineering processes.
• Ability to interpret mechanical or electrical engineering documentation.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with an interest in process improvement.
• Interest in using data, dashboards, automation, or emerging tools to improve manufacturing and engineering processes.

Responsibilities

• Support senior engineers and external manufacturing partners on readiness and production support.
• Prepare manufacturing readiness documentation and support engineering changes.
• Review mechanical and electrical drawings and production requirements.
• Assist with design for manufacturability and process improvements.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing and design challenges with internal teams and external partners.
• Contribute to process-improvement initiatives and data-driven dashboards or AI-enabled tools.
• Travel to partner locations as needed.
