Qualifications

  • Pursuing an Engineering degree, ideally Manufacturing, in a sophomore or junior year.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, problem solving and reasoning abilities.
  • Able to interpret data and recommend improvements.
  • Proficiency with CREO software.
  • Clear written and spoken English communication.
  • Collaborative mindset to work with teammates, suppliers, and customers in a team setting.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate manufacturability or equipment issues caused by design and variation; propose and validate mitigations.
  • Develop and implement Autonomous Maintenance documentation for critical equipment including tasks, frequency, and safety.
  • Assist ME with reviewing, developing, and implementing Standard Work (WI, Process Sheets, Checklists).
  • Apply time-study methods (MOST, MTM) to analyze processes.
  • Collaborate with engineering teammates to drive productivity improvements and cost savings.

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Intern
Location: Hartford

Summary The Intern will support day-to-day department activities, project work, and process improvement initiatives while gaining hands‑on experience in a professional business environment. This role is designed for a student or early‑career professional who is eager to learn, contribute to meaningful work, and develop practical skills related to their field of study or career interests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate manufacturability / equipment issues that are causes by design and current manufacturing variation, propose, and validate solutions to mitigate issue.
  • Develop and implement Autonomous Maintenance documentation for critical automated equipment that included detailing tasks, tools, frequency, and safety requirements.
  • Support ME in review, development, and implementation of Standard Work (WI, Process Sheets, Checklists, etc.).
  • Utilize methodologies of time studies (MOST, MTM).
  • Collaborate with other engineering team members to complete projects related to improvement of productivity and cost savings.
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, preferably Manufacturing and of current Sophomore or Junior status.
  • Must possess effective analytical, numerical, problem solving, and reasoning abilities.
  • Ability to interpret data and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Proficiency in CREO Software.
  • Speak and write English effectively to convey information.
  • Collaborative approach to partner with teammates, suppliers, and customers (both internal and external) successfully, working closely with others in a team environment.
  • Establish and leverage relationships to achieve common project objectives.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, stay organized, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, dependability, and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Ability to take a leadership role in a team-based environment
  • Statistical Process Techniques, Failure Analysis, and Process Validation Skills
  • Standard Work Lean Tools Skills
  • Previous internship, part-time work, volunteer, project, or campus leadership experience.
  • Coursework or experience related to the department or business area.
  • Interest in learning about the company, industry, and potential career paths.

Schedule and Duration

This internship is expected to run from June 1st, 2027, through August 20th, 2027. The anticipated schedule is full-time schedule and 40 hours per week, with work performed onsite based on business needs.
