The position requires 5+ years in high-volume plastics manufacturing, robotics experience, and strong PFMEA/Lean skills. Travel and relocation may be involved in projects and line upgrades.
Qualifications
- Five+ years hands-on manufacturing engineering in high-volume plastics
- Experience integrating robotics and automation systems (Fanuc/Yushin/Sepro/UR)
- Strong PFMEA, Process Flow Diagrams, and Lean tools (5S, Kanban, Poka-Yoke)
- Cross-discipline engineering with mechanical, electrical, and robotic requirements
- Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks or Inventor) for fixtures and work-cell design
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize work cells for secondary processing (ultrasonic welding, heat staking, packaging)
- Create robust error-proofing fixtures and assembly aids to improve quality
- Establish standard work instructions, SOPs and visual controls for operators
- Lead equipment integration projects from specs to FAT and installation
- Automate material handling, warehousing, and core manufacturing functions
- Drive lean initiatives, waste reduction, and line-balancing
