Job summary

Applied Medical seeks an Injection Molding Process Engineer to maintain and optimize plastics molding processes for medical device components. You’ll apply scientific molding, DOE, and rigorous validation from mold qualification through production, collaborating with tooling, engineering, and production teams.

You will lead defect investigations, optimize processes, and support new product introductions while mentoring technicians and engineers. This role is based in California.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in plastics/related field.
• 2+ years in injection molding or plastics manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Develops, optimizes, and sustains injection molding processes using scientific molding and DOE.
• Operates molding machines, runs robot setup, mold setup, and EOAT programming.
• Leads root cause investigations of molding defects with cross-functional teams.
• Leads IQ/OQ/PQ validation and supports new product introductions.
• Collaborates with tooling engineers to optimize mold performance and participate in mold design reviews.
• Monitors process capability using statistical methods and drives yield improvements.
• Develops process specs, recipes, SOPs, and reports.
• Mentors technicians and engineers across teams.
