Job summary

Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America (PECNA) in De Soto, Kansas, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer III to lead advanced manufacturing projects in a high-volume lithium-ion battery facility. You will drive process improvements, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Production, Quality, Controls, and Maintenance to optimize safety, quality, and throughput.

The role requires strong technical leadership, experience in manufacturing systems, and the ability to manage medium-size projects

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related STEM field.
Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related field (preferred).
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or demonstrated experience leading enterprise-level continuous improvement initiatives (preferred).
Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE) strongly preferred (preferred).
Experience with automation systems, controls engineering, or manufacturing systems integration (preferred).
Project leadership or project management certification (e.g., PMP) (preferred).
OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification (or equivalent) (preferred).

Responsibilities

Leads medium-sized process improvement, equipment upgrade, or automation projects with scope, budgets, and timelines.
Drives continuous improvements to throughput, yield, reliability, and cost performance.
Mentors junior engineers and provides technical leadership.
Collaborates cross-functionally to improve safety, quality, and operational performance.
Presents technical recommendations and risk assessments to management.
