Job summary

S&C Electric Company in Chicago, IL is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer III to lead manufacturing engineering projects from design through implementation, including equipment installation and process redesign.

You will apply tooling, automation, and PLC programming expertise, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, IT, and quality to improve safety, reliability, and cost metrics.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering is required or equivalent.
5–7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering and related fields.
Experience with tooling, automation, PLC programming, and process improvement.

Responsibilities

Lead manufacturing engineering projects from design through implementation, including equipment installation and process redesign.
Design and document manufacturing processes, standards, and tooling to improve safety, quality, and cost.
Develop and implement tooling and machines for fabrication; apply PLC programming for automation.
Manage equipment upgrades and coordinate with suppliers and internal teams.
Mentor junior engineers and drive cross‑functional collaboration across Engineering, Manufacturing, IT and Quality.
Lead PPS and continuous improvement efforts; ensure compliance with company policies.
Support process blueprinting, system enablement, and change management in Global Business Systems.
