Job summary

S&C Electric Company is hiring a Process Engineer III to lead ongoing improvement projects and support manufacturing operations at its Chicago headquarters. You will collaborate with Operations, Quality, Facilities and Maintenance to optimize feeder plant performance and drive capital projects.

The role requires 5–10 years in design, process, or manufacturing engineering and a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.

Qualifications

5–10 years relevant and progressive experience in Quality, Design, Operations, Process, Maintenance or Manufacturing Engineering.
Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or other relevant Engineering.
Ability to take ownership and work independently within a collaborative setting; work with customers to resolve technical issues and improve safety, quality, delivery and cost.
Budget & cost estimating experience for capital projects exceeding $500,000.
Ability to prepare calculations, P&IDs, specifications, functional descriptions, equipment schedules.
Familiarity with process controls, automation, material handling systems.
Experience with commissioning manufacturing equipment and startup troubleshooting.
Excellent MS PowerPoint skills.
Knowledge of ISO-9001 Quality Management System (QMS).
Knowledge of systematic problem-solving methods: DMAIC, RCA, 5-Why, A3, 8D.

Responsibilities

Perform project engineering on process systems as assigned; includes equipment and processes in the plant.
Prepare design criteria, feasibility, treatability, drawings, specs, and material tests.
Coordinate field surveys, CAD layouts, and project management for capital projects.
