Job summary

S&C Electric Company, an employee-owned leader in power system equipment, is seeking a Staff Process Engineer to drive cross‑functional manufacturing initiatives. You will lead large‑scale projects, optimize processes, and mentor teams across facilities, with emphasis on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

Ideal candidates have a broad manufacturing background, experience with machining centers, data analysis, and strong communication skills to partner with suppliers, R&D, and production teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Preferred: Master's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 7-9 years of experience in manufacturing engineering in high-volume, high-mix or semi-automated environments.
• Machining and turning operations expertise; experience with Okuma and Mazak machines preferred.
• Work with tool designers and CNC team to develop workholding and tooling.
• Strong problem-solving, planning, and cross-functional communication skills.
• Knowledge of manufacturing technologies and electronics manufacturing.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with diverse audiences.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and quality.
• Mentoring and coaching for lower-level engineers.
• Organizational planning and data-driven decision making.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and extended hours when needed.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Lead large‑scale cross‑functional projects across facilities and systems.
• Drive development and renovation standards for manufacturing processes.
• Serve as go‑to expert for resolving high‑impact manufacturing challenges.
• Manage equipment upgrades and supplier engagement to meet standards.
• Build and lead project teams across departments.
• Mentor junior engineers and share expertise.
• Lead PPS efforts to improve safety, quality and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and rules.
• Collaborate with R&D on development needs and tooling qualifications.
• Visit suppliers for support or factory acceptance testing.
