Job description

Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for creating and maintaining manufacturing plans, work instructions, and engineering change orders (ECOs). This role involves using Creo 3-D modeling for part design, managing Bills of Materials, and evaluating designs for manufacturability. The engineer will collaborate with offsite teams, lead root cause investigations, and support real-time manufacturing floor issues. Additionally, the role focuses on continuous improvement to enhance product quality and efficiency.

Job Duties:

• Create manufacturing plans for manufacturing team to ensure that overall quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved.
• Create and maintain manufacturing assembly work instructions.
• Create deviations and ECOs with clear and concise explanation of changes made.
• Create or modify parts and features using Creo 3-D modeling.
• Create and manage Engineering Bill of Materials.
• Review and update engineering designs and drawings for accuracy and manufacturability.
• Conceptualize and design manufacturing tooling when required to help support operations.
• Communicate efficiently with offsite management and engineering teams.
• Evaluate and determine root cause for defective customer returns.
• Support real time manufacturing floor issues. Lead root cause investigation for preventative corrective action.
• Collaborate with Quality to provide disposition on vendor supplied parts that are non-conforming.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects to improve manufacturing methods, efficiency, and product quality.
• Performs other job-related duties assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum 3+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment and a Bachelor’s degree and experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven multi-tasker and self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in writing technical specifications or manufacturing work instructions.
• Proficiency with MS Office required, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of 5S and Lean Manufacturing experience a plus.
• Engineering experience in an ISO 9001 compliant manufacturing/fabrication work environment.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Proficiency with CAD software (CREO 3-D) and eMachineShop.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Location:

• McConnellsburg, PA area (hybrid)

Environmental Factors:

• Must be able to use a computer keyboard and view a monitor for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to travel domestically and internationally for business (% if needed)
