Job Description

ProSidian is seeking a FERMILAB Mechanical Engineer (FRA10) / Senior Consultant (Exempt 874-1) to provide Program / Project Management Solutions related to the Proton Improvement Plan II Project (PIP-II) Construction Administration Support Services, on behalf of The Fermi Research Alliance, LLC (FRA). This role is remote, located within CONUS, preferably in Batavia, IL 60510, and focuses on Energy, Resources, & Industrials Sector projects.

Job Overview

Provide general program support as a Mechanical Engineer, including:

  • Designing mechanical systems for buildings, machinery, and equipment; developing specifications, selecting materials, and creating schematics.
  • Developing and designing new mechanical products such as engines, power generators, and machine tools.
  • Testing and troubleshooting mechanical systems to ensure safety and functionality.
  • Supervising installation and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Overseeing technicians and engineers’ work.
  • Conducting research to discover new technologies and improve existing systems.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety standards set by OSHA, ASME, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborating with electrical engineers, software engineers, and project managers to ensure project success.

Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Strong technical skills in mechanics, thermodynamics, materials science, CAD, and engineering tools.
  • Ability to solve complex problems under tight deadlines and budgets.
  • Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Teamwork and attention to detail.
  • Certifications such as CAD, Systems Engineering, or Quality Engineering are a plus.
  • Licensed in Illinois.
Qualifications

Skills and abilities include multi-tasking, organization, communication, U.S. citizenship, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and security clearance eligibility.
