Job summary

Mustang Survival Mfg Inc in Jacksonville, FL seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead manufacturing systems within production and extend impact to Mustang Survival and sister companies. You will implement Lean processes to boost efficiency, quality and flexibility while collaborating with product, quality, and supply chain teams.

The role requires 8–10 years in manufacturing, experience with NPI, and proficiency in SolidWorks/AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing systems formulation and management within production in Jacksonville, FL.

• Develop work instructions, drawings, tests, and manufacturing fixtures.
• Support testing, validation, and regulatory compliance protocols.

The primary objective is to ensure the delivery of high-quality products to the market. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is tasked with implementing Lean manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, flexibility, and quality throughout the manufacturing operations.STRUCTUREThe Manufacturing Engineer (Senior) reports to Manufacturing Engineering Lead.RESPONSIBILITYCollaborate with project teams to launch new military and professional life saving products.Support and Drive LEAN manufacturing and 5S Initiatives. Incorporate Six Sigma methodologies to enhance process improvement efforts.Drive initiation for continuous improvement projects to increase production capacity and quality. Conduct data analysis and utilize performance metrics tracking to measure the impact of improvement projects.Support issue management and problem-solving using root cause analysis techniques and corrective action implementation to address recurring problems effectively.Work in a highly cross-functional team environment involving manufacturing and product development, production, quality, supply chain, marketing, sale, and finance team.Develops work instructions, drawings, tests, modifications, assembly processes, fixtures, processes or specialized manufacturing, test equipment for existing or new products and ensure production readiness.Prepare and maintain manufacturing documentation such as BOL, tooling and work instructionAssist and Lead in development on testing and validating the new product, process and system.Actively participate and support in regulatory compliance testing and validation protocolsWork closely with contract electrician and machine shop to build test or assembly fixture for production.Provide guidance and mentorship to junior manufacturing engineers, fostering their professional development and technical proficiency.Support in the development of training programs and resources to onboard new team members and facilitate ongoing skill enhancement for junior engineers.Coach junior engineers in problem-solving techniques, best practices, and adherence to quality standards, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.Lead by example, demonstrating effective communication, teamwork, and ethical conduct in all aspects of manufacturing engineering activities.QualificationsREQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree in engineering relative with a focus in industrial, mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, or equivalent as preferred.8 to 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.A combination of relevant training and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.Experience with New Production Introduction (NPI).Lean manufacturing knowledge and direct experience required including 5S, Root cause analysis, Value Stream Mapping, 5 Why, Poka Yoke.Knowledge with technical writing of process documents (PFMEA, Process Flow, Control Plan, Work Instructions, and Checklists.)Proficient in 2D and 3D model design using Solidworks and AutoCAD.Enjoy hands-on work with machines and toolsAnalytical and proven track record of problem solvingIntermediate knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPointA Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects with minimum guidanceStrong written & verbal communication skills to generate process instructions and reportsAble to interpret and produce basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematicsExperience in garment sewing, or industrial sewing or other associated manufacturing is an assetLean green belt or higher certification and demonstrated successful practiceThe ability to speak Spanish is an asset
