Job summary

Safran DSI Optronics in Bedford, NH, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to strengthen our manufacturing processes through data-driven analysis, Lean Six Sigma, and design for manufacturability. You will implement production changes, develop tooling, mentor technicians, and collaborate with engineering, programs, and suppliers to ensure test plans cover all requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering / engineering technology or equivalent.
• 7–10 years of experience in a manufacturing facility.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational, presentation and customer relationship skills.
• Solid verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with imaging systems, range finders and LASER aiming.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks, Altium, LABVIEW, Python, and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods using design data, materials, tooling and equipment.
• Participate in higher level discussions regarding business.
• Manage, evaluate and report production metrics to drive process changes.
• Investigate new technology/methodology to reduce touch time or yield loss.
• Implement production changes and use DOE, data analysis and ROI analysis.
• Assist in developing opto-mechanical tooling, fixtures, test stations and test software.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Programs and customers to ensure test plans cover all requirements.
