Job summary

States Manufacturing LLC in Dayton, MN is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to support development, improvement, and maintenance of manufacturing processes. You will collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and maintenance teams to optimize workflow and reduce waste.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a related field, 5–7+ years experience, CAD proficiency, and a strong Lean/Six Sigma mindset. You will drive cost savings, implement standard work, and train staff on new processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 5-7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
  • Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools understanding.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, improve, and document manufacturing processes.
  • Support production by troubleshooting equipment and process issues.
  • Analyze production data to identify cost reduction, quality improvement, and throughput gains.
  • Implement lean manufacturing practices and support continuous improvement projects.
  • Work with design and engineering teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Specify, test, and support installation of new equipment and tools.
  • Create and update work instructions, SOPs, and process documentation.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
  • Train production staff on new processes, tools, or equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
