Job summary

PDS Defense, Inc. in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to develop and optimize manufacturing processes for defense and aerospace products.

You will work with design engineers, production personnel, and quality teams to improve manufacturability, reduce cycle times, and ensure safety and compliance. The role emphasizes Lean/Six Sigma, equipment selection and integration, process documentation, and collaboration with suppliers to maintain steady production while meeting quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Advanced degrees may be preferred.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and technologies such as CNC machining and additive manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop manufacturing processes, procedures, and work instructions to meet product specs and quality standards; implement improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and safety.
• Collaborate with design engineers to ensure producibility and manufacturability; analyze production data to reduce bottlenecks and cycle times.
• Evaluate equipment, oversee integration into production lines, ensure safety and regulatory compliance; lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives for cost reduction and quality improvement.
• Establish and maintain quality control procedures; resolve production-related quality issues; implement preventive measures.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely materials; evaluate supplier capabilities and performance.
• Prepare and maintain documentation including SOPs and engineering change orders; generate KPI reports.
