Job summary

You will program lathes, define speeds/feeds, and support capital projects, collaborating across Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality to improve processes and reduce costs. The role requires journeyman machinist experience or equivalent, strong GD&T and blueprint interpretation, and proficiency with CAMWorks and SolidWorks.

Qualifications

• Hands-on CNC machining and metal cutting experience.
• Experience with tooling, fixturing, and machining process development.
• Journeyman machinist status, completion of a machining apprenticeship, or a minimum of five years of machining trade experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.
• Knowledge of CNC programming, including G-code and M-code fundamentals.
• Experience troubleshooting machining processes and solving manufacturing-related problems.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical assistance to Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing organization.
• Analyzes drawings and selects tooling; creates process sheets and tooling lists for machining centers.
• Is a resource for capital projects; may prepare appropriation requests.
• Identifies opportunities for process improvements and carries out improvement actions.
• Develops new and improved manufacturing methods (DFMA).
• Program lathes using CAMWorks/SolidWorks; establish speeds/feeds and cutting configurations; support equipment/tooling development.
