Position Purpose: The Manufacturing Engineer II will develop and implement manufacturing processes for the building, testing, and delivery of spacecrafts and spacecraft components.

Title: Manufacturing Engineer II

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Range: $80,000 - $120,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

Job Responsibilities:

Own production execution for a single Spacecraft or Component Product Line, responsible for meeting on time delivery.

Provide hands-on support for manufacturing & test technicians.

Serve as the primary point of contact for non-conforming product. Troubleshoot and investigate failures to determine root cause and corrective actions.

Create mechanical and electrical assembly instructions, focusing on standardizing across projects and products while streamlining workflow of hardware through needed work centers.

Design fixturing and tooling to aide manufacturing.

Understand in-house business systems including Configuration Data Management tools, Manufacturing Execution System, MRP, manufacturing shop floor control, and internal status reporting.

Required Qualifications/Education:

BS degree in an Engineering field or equivalent discipline.

2+ years of experience in at least one core product area: Electronics, Mechanical/Machining, Optics, RF, or Spacecraft Integration.

Proficiency with interpreting technical engineering drawings, bills of material, and technical documents including test and integration procedures.

Excellent interpersonal skills, strong written communication skills, oral presentation skills and an ability to lead group discussions with both internal and external customers.

Related technical experience will be considered in lieu of education.

Working Conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.
