Job summary

Sonova USA Inc. in Valencia, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I to support manufacturing operations. You will help ensure quality and safety of processes while driving yield improvements, product dispositions, assembly procedures, and validations.

Cross-functional collaboration with Manufacturing, NPI, and R&D is essential. The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering and at least 1 year of manufacturing engineering experience, with a focus on analytics, problem solving, and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of 1 year of Manufacturing Engineering experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Previous medical device experience and knowledge of regulatory compliance and product quality, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and improve manufacturing processes, workflows, and yields.
• Execute risk-based/FMEA process validations and prepare technical reports.
• Troubleshoot production processes and equipment.
• Perform root-cause analysis and support corrective and preventive actions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/Six Sigma approaches.
• Develop tooling, fixtures, and process automation.
• Complete time studies to help determine production capacity.
• Provide DFM feedback to product design teams.
• Train production employees on new or updated procedures.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Evaluate new proposals, including cost-benefit analysis and implementation planning.
