Job summary

This position works out of our St. Paul, MN location in the Abbott Vascular Devices division. Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive, and cost-effective products for the treatment of vascular disease.

Implements and sustains Operational Excellence (OPEX) initiatives and projects in all plant functions. Determines the most efficient sequence of operations through evaluation of human work factors, quality control, inventory control and production coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering.
• 0-2 years of experience; entry level.
• Lean Manufacturing and/or Project Management certified are a plus.
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
• MS Office (Excel, Word, Project & PowerPoint) proficiency.
• AutoCAD knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing solutions using statistical methods to support operations.
• Work with equipment from handheld tools to large machinery.
• Analyze layouts to reduce cycle time and boost productivity.
• Perform capacity analysis for headcount and equipment.
• Provide technical support to other departments on flow and ergonomics.
• Apply engineering principles to interpret problems and design options.
• Develop and maintain productivity metrics and join cross-functional teams.
• Identify and eliminate non-value added activities using DMAIC.
• Refine methods for labor/equipment utilization and cost analysis.
• Ensure compliance with Abbott procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Follow Quality and EHS policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
