Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design, build, and scale assembly operations. You will develop assembly processes, support equipment bring-up, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced, ambiguity-rich setting. 5+ years in high-volume environments and a Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering degree are required.

The role emphasizes hands-on execution, collaboration across disciplines, and constructive rollout of production systems in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
• 5+ years in high-volume manufacturing or sourcing environments.
• Hands-on experience with assembly methods: joining, fastening, bonding.
• Experience with DFMA and iterative product development.
• Ability to work across cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide DFM/DFA feedback to design teams and iterate rapidly.
• Develop and validate assembly methods for complex electromechanical products.
• Support PFMEA development and upstream process knowledge.
• Design and size manufacturing lines, material flow, and equipment specs.
• Define line requirements: layout, cycle times, headcount.
• Assist with new assembly equipment design, fixtures, and vendor RFQs.
• Coordinate with OEMs, tooling suppliers, and automation integrators.
• Support end-to-end project execution.
• Assist production readiness including safety, quality, throughput, and scrap reduction.
• Identify non-value-added steps and drive improvements.
• Create and document assembly processes, work instructions, and control plans.
• Apply Lean and data-driven problem solving for continuous improvement.
