Job summary

Akkodis is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Foundry) for a 12-month contract in Fair Lawn, NJ. You will provide manufacturing engineering services to support efficient processes, including cell management, process development, project management, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities include maintaining controlled documents, supporting machining, casting, heat treating, and other processing steps; conducting feasibility studies; and guiding cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering with 1+ year in a regulated environment (medical device preferred).
• GD&T familiarity.
• Continuous improvement using structured problem solving tools.
• Ability to balance quality, compliance and safety to meet customer requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple medium complexity projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve controlled documents (prints, procedures, BOMs, routers).
• Support processing applications (machining, finishing, forging, casting, cleaning, heat treating, bonding, molding).
• Conduct feasibility studies for cost and capital equipment planning.
• Improve processes to meet performance and quality requirements.
• Execute to project plans and schedules; communicate across departments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on process recommendations.
• Provide training to entry-level engineers.

Job description

Akkodis is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Foundry) for a 12-month contract job with a client in Fair Lawn, NJ. You will be responsible for providing manufacturing engineering services to support efficient manufacturing processes. Engineering services may include cell management, process development, project management, process validation, tool design, and trouble shooting.

Rate Range: $39.00/hour to $42/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Manufacturing Engineer (Foundry) job responsibilities include:

• Maintain and improve controlled technical documents such as prints, procedures, bill of materials and routers.
• Support a wide variety of processing applications such as machining, finishing, forging, casting, cleaning, heat treating, bonding, molding, etc.
• Conduct feasibility studies to estimate product cost and analyze capital equipment, capacity, and capability requirements.
• Improve process methods which meet performance and quality requirements.
• Execute to project plans and schedules for work activities.
• Communicate (written and verbal) with appropriate personnel from other departments.
• Partner with cross-functional departments to make process and procedure recommendations.
• Provide training and guidance to entry-level engineers.

Desired Qualifications:

• B.S. in Engineering with a minimum of 1-year experience in an engineering role in a regulated environment – Medical device preferred. Years of experience required. Investment casting process experience preferred.
• Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Continuous improvement utilizing structured problem solving tools
• Ability to balance quality, compliance and safety to meet customer requirements.
• Ability to independently handle and prioritize multiple medium complexity project assignments and complete work in a timely manner.
• Good problem-solving skills through the use of quality and statistical tools.
• Ability to effectively work within a cross-functional team to complete critical project tasks – Project management skills.
• Demonstrates good written and verbal communication skills.
• Microsoft Office Suite and Project.
• Ability to independently develop and execute on project plans. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and provide recommendations on process, procedure and training.
