Job summary

Akkodis is seeking a SME – Automation for a contract role in California to support development and deployment of advanced manufacturing automation systems for high-volume production, including machine design, robotics, machine vision, motion control, and process optimization.

You will lead automation projects, design and implement automated solutions, collaborate with engineering, support NPI builds, and drive DOE, RCA and continuous improvement across supplier networks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of manufacturing automation experience.
• Experience with robotics, machine vision, PLCs, motion control, and sensors.
• Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing equipment.
• Strong problem-solving, DOE, and statistical analysis skills.
• Experience with CAD and GD&T.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation projects for manufacturing equipment and production lines.

Job description

Akkodis is seeking an SME – Automation for a contract role. This position will support the development and deployment of advanced manufacturing automation systems for high-volume production, including machine design, robotics, machine vision, motion control, and manufacturing process optimization.

To be considered, candidates should have strong experience in manufacturing automation, machine design, robotics, PLCs, and automated production equipment.

Pay Range: $110 - $120/hr. (The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)

SME – Automation Responsibilities Include:

• Lead automation projects for manufacturing equipment and production lines.
• Design and implement automated manufacturing solutions.
• Work with engineering teams to identify automation opportunities and DFM improvements.
• Support machine design, machine vision, robotics, PLC controls, and motion systems.

• Experience working with contract manufacturers and overseas suppliers.
• Mandarin is a plus.
