Job summary

Brazeway in Shelbyville, IN, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. You will apply engineering principles to improve processes, reduce cost, and enhance quality, safety, and capability across hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.

Daily work includes supporting maintenance, designing new machines and tooling, and leading cross-functional projects with APQP and Six Sigma methodologies. Travel up to 10% may be required; extrusion experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with hydraulics and electrical equipment.
• Extrusion experience preferred (24/7 operation).
• Experience with Six Sigma, Lean and Continuous Improvement problem solving tools.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to interface with all levels of the organization and with customers and suppliers.
• Experience working with APQP and SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Applies basic engineering principles to improve processes or solve manufacturing problems by reducing cost and improving quality, safety, and capability.
• Designs or manages the design of new machines and tooling.
• Provides technical support to plant management and product development teams.
• Act as subject matter expert for operational practices.
