Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer responsible for inspection processes (AOI, AXI, cross sectioning, laser profiler, vision systems) for Power Electronics Manufacturing. You will lead procurement, setup and launch of production equipment and develop standardized processes aligned with global powertrain strategies.

The role requires 2+ years in automated high-volume manufacturing, experience with AOI/AXI, and ISO clean room exposure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • 2+ years experience in Manufacturing/Assembly with automated production.
  • Experience with AOI and AXI (X-Ray/CT).
  • Prior experience in ISO clean room environment manufacturing power electronics.
  • Familiarization with ESD controls for handling power electronics.
  • Travel to supplier facilities and Ford Manufacturing plants will be required (10-30%).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the specification, procurement, build, installation and launch of Powertrain Production equipment related to Inspection of powertrain power electronics components.
  • Develop and deliver standardized processes and equipment in line with global powertrain strategies.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing process associated with Inspection of power electronics (AOI, AXI, cross sectioning, laser profiler, vision systems, etc.).
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering to meet Manufacturing Design Specifications for power electronics with feasible expectations in the Engineering Specification (ES).
  • Support the Prototype Engineering/Pilot Manufacturing process to determine feasible inspection solutions and methodology during the early stages of new programs.
  • Troubleshoot production issues impacting FTT and warranty, determine corrective actions to the part, processes and/or equipment.
  • Travel to supplier facilities and Ford Manufacturing plants will be required (10-30%).

In this position

Manufacturing Engineer responsible for Inspection processes (AOI, AXI, cross sectioning, laser profiler, vision systems, etc.) for Power Electronics Manufacturing.

What You’ll Do

You’ll have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years experience in Manufacturing/Assembly utilizing heavily or fully automated high-volume production.
  • Experience with AOI and AXI (X-Ray/CT)
  • Prior experience working in ISO clean room environment manufacturing power electronics
  • Familiarization of ESD controls and measures for handling power electronics
  • Data driven mentality and decision-making process.
  • Application experience in computers and electronics.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to learn product function.
  • Handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to a dynamic working environment and diverse team.
  • Mechanical and Controls Engineering aptitude.
  • Project management experience.

This position is a salary grade 6-8 and ranges from $74,300-$166,200.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
