Job summary

Komatsu America Corp. seeks a manufacturing engineer experienced in production planning and tooling development to optimize shop floor processes. You will create SAP routers, define work centers, and document standard work and tooling requirements to improve efficiency and safety.

The role emphasizes DFMA, collaboration with design and production teams, and managing changes to manufacturing documents. Strong communication and project management are required to drive value across the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering highly preferred (not mandatory).
• 5 years of equipment manufacturing experience, especially welding, cutting, and CNC equipment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Ability to communicate manufacturing concepts to multiple stakeholders.
• Project planning with manufacturing engineers, internal departments, and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Daily Shop Engagement: monitor production areas and participate in routine meetings to address challenges.
• Create Production Routers: define work centers/sequences, standard work, tooling, and enter labor standards into SAP.
• Engineering Change Control: support revisions, ensure data accuracy, and respond with urgency to avoid delays.
• Develop Tooling Solutions: design jigs, fixtures, and tooling, document in 2D/3D and integrate with standard work.
• Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA): propose changes to reduce parts, steps, and improve manufacturability.
