Job summary

Komatsu is seeking an experienced engineering professional in Homer City, Indiana, to drive production efficiency and enhance tooling solutions. This role demands expertise in heavy equipment manufacturing, particularly in welding and CNC operations, along with strong communication and project management skills.

The successful candidate will engage with shop activities, create production routers, and lead initiatives for improved safety and process efficiency while managing engineering changes effectively.

Qualifications

• 10 years of heavy equipment manufacturing experience, especially welding, cutting, and CNC.
• Experience in related manufacturing work may substitute for a degree.
• Must have project management capabilities across various levels.

Responsibilities

• Go/See the production work areas regularly; engage with daily challenges.
• Create or update SAP routers for production work.
• Support production with engineering changes and ensure timely delivery.
• Assess and design tooling for safety and efficiency.
• Lead design engineering to enhance manufacturability.

Skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to express manufacturing concepts conversationally

Ability to work with people on a manufacturing floor

Project management skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred
