Job summary

Dover Fueling Solutions (DFS) seeks a Manufacturing Model Making Support (Support 4) to design and build scale models of industrial components and equipment. You will translate specs into digital models, program CNC machinery, and apply colors and textures to simulate final products.

Collaboration and procedural knowledge are essential. Responsibilities include supervising non-routine tasks, mentoring junior staff, and solving challenging fabrication challenges.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of operational procedures and tools gained through extensive work experience.
• Vocational or technical education may be required.
• Experience with scale-model fabrication is advantageous.

Manufacturing Industrial Model Making Support work focuses on designing and building scale models of industrial products components and manufacturing equipment including:

• Analyzing engineering and industrial design specifications/drawings and translating those into digital models using computer-aided-design software (CAD/CAM/CAE).
• Determining the best approach to fabricating a complex model out of multiple pieces.
• Programming computer numeric control (CNC) machinery for subtractive modelling and/or 3D printing for additive modelling.
• Applying colors, textures, and graphics to simulate the look of the final product.

A Support 4 requires advanced knowledge of operational procedures and tools obtained through extensive work experience and may require vocational or technical education.

Responsibilities typical include:

• Working under limited supervision for non-routine situations and may be responsible for leading daily operations..
• Training, delegating and reviewing the work of lower level employees..
• Problems are typically difficult and non-routine but not complex.
