Co-ops are full-time eight-month experiences; internships are part-time terms, extending across multiple semesters and exposing students to corporate and production environments. Participants gain hands-on experience, access to real projects, and the chance to interact with skilled professionals at a global company.

Qualifications

• Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior pursuing Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
• 3.0+ GPA preferred.
• Commitment to full-time for 8-month co-op or 4-month internship.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing layouts for capital projects.
• Develop time studies for line balancing and setup reduction.
• Assist in new product and ECN implementation.
• Create programs for lasers, plasmas, brakes and turret machines.
• Calculate cycle times.
• Assist in developing Lean/DFT initiatives and automation programs.
• Assist in process documentation, workflow and work-content identification.
• Assist in continual improvement of factory safety, quality, reliability and productivity.
• Assist in solution development and implementation.
• Assist in implementing the Orange Powdered System and conveyor weight capacity project.
• Support continual improvement of paint quality and reduction of defects.
