Seiler Instrument Company in Saint Louis, MO, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer to create models, CNC programs, and fixtures from customer blueprints and to maintain detailed drawings. The role includes developing setup instructions for machine shop applications and optimizing CNC programs to meet estimated times.

Candidates should have strong Solidworks/Mastercam experience, fixture design expertise, and a solid grasp of blueprint reading, GD&T, and machining principles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 7+ years in a similar field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Solidworks and Mastercam software is required.
• Extensive knowledge of fixture design and machining principles pertaining to CNC machines is essential.
• Knowledge of materials and their machining characteristics.
• Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation.
• Good understanding of GD&T.
• Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings and solid models of precision parts to determine the most efficient sequence of operations required for machining.
• Design fixtures and tooling necessary for production and assembly.
• Observes first article production and inspection to verify process is followed and results are conforming.
• Stay current with changing technologies of respective industries and apply information to current and new projects.
• Ensure ISO, AS, safety and other management systems are in compliance as adopted by the company and department.

Job description

Seiler Instrument Company, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is currently seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer for our Manufacturing division. This position is responsible for creating models, CNC programs and designing fixtures for parts from customer supplied blue prints as well as design and maintain Seiler developed drawings. This position will also be responsible for creating, maintaining and updating detailed setup and work instructions for machine shop applications. Candidate must have a thorough working knowledge of modern machine shop practices and be able to optimize CNC programs to meet estimated times. Must also possess strong communication skills and have a team mentality.
