Job summary

ALIGN PRECISION in North Plains, OR seeks an engineer to conceive and optimize tooling, processes and equipment to boost safety, reliability and capacity while reducing costs. You'll perform CNC programming for 3–5 axis machines and produce work instructions, test procedures and documentation to support production.

Bachelor’s degree with 2–4 years’ experience (Master’s 0–2) and CAM experience (Mastercam/Esprit) required; lean manufacturing knowledge and strong communication skills essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2–4 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 0–2 years of experience.
• CAM experience with Mastercam and Esprit.
• Experience with lean manufacturing concepts and tools.
• Knowledge of CNC controls and functions; ability to read engineering drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Develop aircraft fabrication, assembly, and installation work instructions from engineering drawings and specs.
• Evaluate and recommend tools and equipment to support manufacturing and reduce costs.
• Perform root cause corrective action and support process improvements.
• Train and mentor other engineers and planners; collaborate with machinists on production start-ups.
• Lead lean initiatives and optimize workflow to meet customer schedules.
• Provide liaison support for production with updated work instructions and BOM changes.
• Identify and resolve problems using data and systematic methods.
