Job summary

Manitou Group is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Yankton, SD to plan, direct and coordinate manufacturing processes. You will support cost-effective production by improving methods, tooling and workflows while aligning with schedules and standards.

Qualifications

• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficient with computer-aided drafting (CAD) software.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude, communication and computer skills are required. Must be able to gather, manipulate and analyze data.

Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods.
• Determine processes, identify materials and supplies, and design fixtures for efficient manufacturing.
• Establish bills of materials, routings, machine burdens, and new work centers.
• Create instructions for newly manufactured products.
• Process ECOs, implement changes and ensure changes take effect.
• Study time, motion, methods and speed to establish standard production rates and improve efficiencies.
• Institute changes in production processes and adjust pricing as needed.
• Perform engineering activities in line with standards, customer requirements and specs.
• Confer with customers and engineering staff on design and tooling for production methods.
• Confer with vendors on part specs and equipment/materials.
• Estimate production times, staffing needs and related costs.
• Discuss capabilities and schedules with management; other duties may be assigned.
