We are expanding our engineering operations and looking for a talented, highly autonomous Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Mitchell, South Dakota. This is not a static maintenance role where you simply follow a set routine. Instead, you will be handed a blank space and given the creative freedom to design, plan, and set up advanced production lines from scratch. If you are a proactive self-starter who loves seeing their custom CAD designs built, installed, and fully operational on the shop floor, this is the opportunity you have been waiting for.

What You'll Do

• Design custom tools, assembly fixtures, and machinery of varying complexity using advanced CAD software.
• Plan efficient line layouts, break down complex manufacturing tasks, and specify the exact machinery required for new programs.
• Research new equipment, obtain vendor quotes, and write persuasive return-on-investment justifications for capital purchases.
• Work directly on the production floor alongside our technicians and fabricators to install, set up, and debug new machinery.
• Manage the Engineering Change Management process and maintain accurate technical data within our SAP ERP system.
• Drive continuous improvement by implementing Lean manufacturing techniques like Kanban and Kaizen to optimize workflow and reduce waste.

What You'll Bring

• A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related Industrial Technology concentration.
• At least three years of professional experience as a Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineer, specifically within a hands‑on production environment.
• Strong drafting skills and proven proficiency in CAD software for tooling and machine design.
• The ability to work independently, manage your own task list, and drive complex projects forward with minimal supervision.
• A solid understanding of mechanical principles, metal fabrication, and assembly techniques.
• An ambitious mindset, ideally with an interest in pursuing a Professional Engineer license.
