Job summary

S&S Cycle, Inc. in La Crosse, WI is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Exhaust Engineering team.

You will develop manufacturing processes, implement efficiency improvements, and support new product launches on the production floor. Work with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost while delivering proven performance in the powersports industry.

Qualifications

• B.S. Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering or related field of study.
• 3+ years’ experience working in manufacturing.
• Lean Certification and/or project management experience is a plus.
• Reading and interpreting blueprint and GD&T.
• In-depth knowledge and experience with CAD systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop documented work standards and instructions for manufacturing processes.
• Lead the implementation of new processes for quality and efficiency gains.
• Champion cost savings initiatives in assigned areas with current vs. proposed methods.
• Understand and adhere to department and company goals, objectives, and strategy.
• Monitor manufacturing processes using SPC, cycle time monitoring, time studies, and value stream mapping.
• Assist in tool/fixture designs with Tool Room and NC Programming Department.
• Design automated solutions to replace manual systems.
• Design cell layouts for optimum product flow and assist in machine selection.
• Work on new product introductions including design for manufacturing, BOM creation, and standard work documentation.
• Assist in estimating standard costs for prospective external work and new products.
• Support make-vs-buy decisions with analytical input.
