Job summary

SmartRecruiters, Inc. seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to focus on equipment manufacturability, automation, 5S, and process improvement. The position includes working with complex production machinery and collaborating with technicians, with some overnight travel.

ABS degree and several years' experience in a manufacturing setting are preferred. Relocation assistance is available to qualified candidates and the company offers an excellent starting salary and benefits.

Qualifications

BS degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or similar.
Experience reading and developing drawings in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor.
Experience with manufacturing processes including grinding, turning, cutting, milling, NC/CNC machinery and programming languages.
Experience with techniques that improve worker engagement, maintain production volumes, reduce costs, and improve quality and safety.
Knowledge of OSHA and safety codes for powered industrial vehicles and heavy machinery.

Responsibilities

Determine machinery and power requirements to meet production volumes.
Work on capital equipment projects.
Develop PLC control systems, including some programming.
Analyze production metrics to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
Evaluate designs for manufacturability and manage engineering change requests.
Implement Lean initiatives, track and forecast costs for budget control.
Collaborate with end users on changes to equipment or new installations.
Coordinate with technicians and contractors on equipment installations, including overnight travel.
