Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer specialized in Assembly at the North Little Rock facility in Arkansas. The role oversees the design, implementation, and maintenance of processes and tooling for assembly operations.

Responsibilities include creating work instructions, supporting NPI and continuous improvement, and driving Lean and 5S initiatives while ensuring safety and compliance with Caterpillar and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or related discipline or equivalent technical experience.
• Technical expertise in AI, automation, and robotics with hands-on setup, diagnostics, and optimization.
• Lean manufacturing tools and methodologies applied in production environments.
• Knowledge of manufacturing safety related to automation and related processes.
• Strong critical-thinking and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain work instructions, tool lists, inspection guides, control plans, PFMEAs and SFMEAs for automation and other manufacturing processes.
• Support new product introductions and continuous improvement efforts around people, quality, velocity, and cost for assembly processes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing projects and 5S improvements.
• Address operational issues including ergonomics, safety, efficiency bottlenecks, and quality concerns related to automation and manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with internal and external suppliers to develop and manage projects for cost-effective systems and processes.
• Provide manufacturing technical support in process controls for assembly and other manufacturing processes.
• Monitor and improve equipment reliability by root-cause analysis and acting as the technical expert for the value stream.
• Ensure compliance with Caterpillar and OSHA standards and procedures.
