Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking an Automation and Controls Engineer to design, implement, and optimize advanced manufacturing technologies that improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost. You will drive automation, digital manufacturing, and Industry 4.0 initiatives using connected systems, robotics, data analytics, and smart factory tech to boost performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience delivering automation, controls, and digital manufacturing projects is ideal.
• Knowledge of Industry 4.0, IIoT, data analytics, and cybersecurity for OT environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, program, and support manufacturing automation systems (PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, robotics).
• Lead automation and capital projects from concept through implementation and handoff.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, IT, and suppliers to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
