Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking an Assembly Support professional in Sanford, NC to directly support section managers and the plant floor through 5S activities, area layout, MRDR process, Continuous Improvement, CAV audit and other activities for assembly as needed.

Job duties include following Caterpillar Production System principles, maintaining quality, meeting deadlines, multitasking, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Required qualifications include effective communication, strong analytical skills, problem solving and meeting deadlines.
• Mechanical/assembly experience and operations/industrial planning experience are preferred.
• Understanding of assembly planning systems and ability to work in a team.
• Able to lift up to 35lbs and work overtime, weekends or holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Follows Caterpillar Production System principles (5S, waste elimination, standard work).
• Independent decision-making and problem solving to complete tasks.
• Meet deadlines and multitask while prioritizing work.
• Cross-functional communication to complete tasks and provide summaries to leadership.
• Contribute as a team member to assembly processes.
