Overview
ME/EPM designs and implements efficient, high-quality manufacturing processes for aerospace products, ensuring compliance with regulations and customer requirements. Collaborate with various teams to optimize production, resolve quality and efficiency issues, and drive continuous improvement. Act as a key member of the engineering team, working closely with all departments within product manufacturing to meet engineering and technical requirements and address problems promptly. This position is responsible for managing, monitoring, and overseeing projects through the entire manufacturing process.
Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Process Development: Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, including tooling, materials, and assembly methods, adhering to regulations and standards.
- Manage new products and programs awarded to PMC, excluding small components not requiring program management.
- Ensure accurate and current production planning that reflects required processes.
- Review project plans to establish objectives.
- Conduct technical studies based on plans and specifications, estimating time requirements.
- Coordinate with quality control, engineering, and document control on quotes, revisions, and corrective actions.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve production issues using analytical and technical skills.
- Authority to halt production for quality concerns.
- Review operational support needs, including tooling and vendors.
- Documentation: Create and maintain manufacturing documentation such as work instructions, inspection plans, and quality procedures.
- Prepare cost estimates and status reports, analyzing trends and recommending actions.
- Collaboration: Work with Engineering, Programming, Planning, Tooling, Quality, and Production teams for seamless process integration.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement lean manufacturing principles and identify efficiency opportunities.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure products meet quality and regulatory standards through inspection and delivery.
- Technical Expertise: Maintain a strong understanding of aerospace materials, manufacturing methods, and regulations.
- Leadership & Teamwork: Lead or mentor manufacturing teams and collaborate cross-functionally.
- Documentation Management: Update and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and assembly sequences.
Additional Responsibilities: Perform other related duties as necessary.
Qualifications
- US Person Requirement: Due to ITAR regulations, must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Preferred experience in manufacturing mechanical aerospace components.
- 3-5 years experience in Assembly and Manufacturing processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.
- Work onsite.
- Ability to interpret aerospace drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a production environment.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks under pressure.
- Effective communication skills for presenting complex information.
- Attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, and other relevant software.
- Experience with CATIA and Enovia software.
- Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative, able to work independently.
