Job summary

SJE Rhombus in Detroit Lakes, MN is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support product transfers, integrate new products into production, and upgrade work instructions and routings.

You will apply Lean Manufacturing to reduce waste, standardize production, and improve shop floor efficiency, while assisting the Maintenance team with troubleshooting and equipment upgrades.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Electrical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent; 1–2 years of experience preferred.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
• Ability to design work centers for capacity, efficiency, and safety to meet takt times.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineering team to support product transfers to the best manufacturing location.
• Assist with integrating new products and product modifications into production; upgrade work instructions and routings.
• Devise, implement and continuously improve manufacturing processes using Lean principles to reduce waste and improve shop floor efficiencies.
• Support the Maintenance team with technical troubleshooting and machinery upgrades.

The job

As our Manufacturing Engineer, your primary role will be to collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineering team to support product transfers to the best manufacturing location. You will assist with integrating new products and product modifications into production as well as upgrading work instructions and routings. You will devise, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes while using Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce waste, standardize production and improve shop floor efficiencies. You will support the Maintenance team with technical troubleshooting and machinery upgrades.

• - Be proficient in working with hand and power tools
• - Have experience in designing work centers for capacity, efficiency, and safety to meet required takt times
• - Be self motivated
• - Be willing to travel to other locations to assist with projects as needed

A 4-year degree in Electrical or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent degree and 1-2 years of experience are preferred.
