Job summary

SJE Detroit Lakes, MN is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support product transfers and continuous improvement across our Rhombus brand. You will work with the Manufacturing Engineering team to implement new products, upgrade work instructions, and optimize production with Lean principles.

Qualified candidates have a 4-year degree in Electrical or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent) and 1–2 years of relevant experience, plus hands-on ability with tools, strong collaboration, and

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineering team to support product transfers to the best manufacturing location.
• Assist with integrating new products and product modifications into production as well as upgrading work instructions and routings.
• Devise, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes using Lean principles to reduce waste and improve shop floor efficiency.
• Support the Maintenance team with technical troubleshooting and machinery upgrades.

The job:

As our Manufacturing Engineer, your primary role will be to collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineering team to support product transfers to the best manufacturing location. You will assist with integrating new products and product modifications into production as well as upgrading work instructions and routings. You will devise, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes while using Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce waste, standardize production and improve shop floor efficiencies. You will support the Maintenance team with technical troubleshooting and machinery upgrades.

• Have experience with product planning
• Possess a continuous improvement and critical thinking mindset
• Be able to provide innovation through collaboration with a team
• Be proficient in working with hand and power tools
• Have experience in designing work centers for capacity, efficiency, and safety to meet required takt times
• Be self motivated
• Be willing to travel to other locations to assist with projects as needed

A 4-year degree in Electrical or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent degree and 1-2 years of experience are preferred.
