Job summary

Job description

We are seeking a hands‑on Manufacturing Engineer to evaluate, improve, and develop manufacturing processes and production systems. This role focuses on increasing operational efficiency, reducing costs, improving product quality, and implementing best practices throughout manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) policies; identify and report hazards, near‑misses, and incidents.
  • Develop, optimize, and sustain manufacturing processes to improve throughput, quality, yield, and overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and lead root cause analysis (RCA) efforts to implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Drive improvements in cycle times, scrap reduction, downtime minimization, setup reduction, and overall manufacturing efficiency.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including SOPs, work instructions, process flow diagrams, and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles and tools such as 5S, SMED, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and Single‑Piece Flow.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, maintenance, and production teams to support New Product Introduction (NPI) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) initiatives.
  • Evaluate manufacturing equipment, tooling, and processes to identify opportunities for automation and cost reduction.
  • Work with equipment suppliers and internal stakeholders to implement cost‑effective manufacturing solutions and process improvements.
  • Collect, analyze, and report production data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational excellence.
  • Support equipment reliability and maintenance initiatives to maximize uptime and production performance.
Qualifications
  • Experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Hands‑on experience within a manufacturing environment; high‑volume production experience preferred.
  • Plastics and/or rubber manufacturing experience is highly desirable; extrusion and/or molding experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience within aerospace, defense, automotive, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, process optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and KPI‑driven operations.
  • Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Creo.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, project management, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing plant environment.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Green Card Holder.
  • Position requires the ability to work on‑site in a manufacturing environment.
  • Occasional travel may be required based on project needs.
